Expansion tank split
My expansion tank has a split starting to appear running between the dalek cap & the level sensor, leaking a small amount of coolant. This is a 1988 1.9DG. It looks quite easy to get a replacement from GSF and fit it - but are there any tricks or tips I need to know? I also need to replace my radiator fan switch at the same time, so how much coolant will I need to drain out? Thanks

Re: Expansion tank split
BIG tip. Buy a VW one, I honestly dont know the GSF one, but I've seen some crap aftermarket ones.
VW Comercial parts centre will have them or order one for you.
Have a search.

Thanks for the tip. Can I re-use the level sensor, or do I need to get a new one?

Re: Expansion tank split
Level sensor should just unscrew, and can be reused.
Give it a clean up and stick it back in.
