maybe a selfish previous owner who wanted al the heat?
Could it have been summat to do with the amount of heat available?
Could also be an attempt to force more air up the window or assist a weak fan?

I'd say to take it out and see what happens - if any issues then put it back :ok
It is by will alone that I set my 'van' in motion!

IIRC... early vans, its fresh air only... late vans its heat as well... but it could be that there are country and spec differences.. I do know my 83 Italian market Caravelle has cold vents, but my 92 German market Doka has hot vents...

Just to throw a spanner in the works, ours is a '86 (1.9dg.i thought was late),
but has the 'cold air vents :?
Does this then mean its an early or a late van with a left other dash from the change over period???
