ignition on - what consumes juice?

Post by CovKid »

I note that I can run stereo off leisure for hours now ever since I fitted split charge, but if i leave ignition on, chaging battery is flat in no time at all. Only thing I can see thats using anything is handbrake light - what is it? 150w light bulb in there? Or is there something else with volts running through its veins when ignition on? Yes, lights switched off :D

Ignition on!..........perhaps it's the ignition? coil and associated ignition components. I'm being sarcastic lol having the ignition turned on does flatten the battery as the ignition system is powered up, not producing sparks perhaps but powered all the same.

Heated rear screen? (I know its Summer, but Coventry might be a bit chilly) and the switch may have failed in the on.
Does the 1.9 have a manifold preheat? again it could have failed on or been rewired.
I'm assuming its a petrol? if Diesel, glow plugs?

Bling lights?

Thats the one! Cheers Angelo. Might just rig up an alarm so where the engine isn't actually running but ignition on, it does at least give an audible warning.
