The oft mentioned "great campsite at Bala"

Post by ghost123uk »

Despite the gloomy weather we went camping anyway (as we often do despite the gloomy weather :? )

We have been here before and will go again.
It is one of the nicest sites I have been to (except for some wild camp places :wink: )
The loos & showers are nicer than ours at home !! and have Imperial Leather soap !!

If you go, there is a main field which is fine, but there is a side field that is a lot quieter and you can park in amongst the trees and have a small log fire too :)

This time we parked up in the third option, that is right at the lake shore.
Great going to sleep listening to the waves lapping over the pebbles.
(until the heavy rain started that is :evil: )

Location = Pant Yr Onnen Campsite, Llangywair, Bala, LL23 7BT - Tel 01678 520415
btw, best to phone up before arriving, he is a very nice bloke but prefers you to do this, also it always says "Full up" on the gate for some reason, even when it is nearly empty :shock: - Cost £12 to £15 depending on what mood he is in (and likely what time of the year it is and weekend V weekday etc)

If we could guarantee the weather we would like to organise an 80-90 weekend there before the end of "the season", but don't want to organise a wash out (been to too many of those this year, not just 80-90 do's but steam rallies, air-shows, motor racing etc that have been washed out)
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

Lets club together and buy it :shock:

I will keep an eye on my fave weather site (= metcheck) and try and find a decent weekend within the next month, though due to weather forecasting being what it is, it might be short (7 day) notice.

We are off to the Malpas traction engine rally this weekend ( and the weather looks good for a change :) )

Next weekend is the Southport air show ( with the VULCAN attending :) :) :) )
