Syncros spotted M6 Today

Post by PC52 »

You were spotted! (we were in disguise)
Russel, (south of Warrington) we were thinking that looks a nice syncro and then Andrew chirped well it is Russel!

Then a very nice looking white westy syncro - heading north - Birmingham area towing a trailer full of Kayaks? Anybody's on here?

Then a nice Westy Atlantic syncro at Wicksteed park, Kettering.

If it was about 5pm going north by Brum, twas me!! It wasnt a load of kayaks i was trailing, but a dinghy called an International canoe.....so I'm impressed with your eyesight as the boat originated from the kayak! had been to Grafham for the weekend to sail in the IC Open....camped by the waters edge, and a good breeze all weekend. VW spotting on the way home kept me awake!
Van might look good from the other carriageway, but the paint is bubbling on the seams and the time is fast approaching for me to do something about it!
Van ran well, and should be ok for malvern ...............bring it on!

Yeh tons. I am just gathering them at the moment and will string a vid together soon. A bit of a water crossing for now, not bad for a petrol :mrgreen: http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a57/je ... G_0215.flv" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That was you! Fully loaded,
We live about 20mile west of Graham water, sounds like you had good fun. Windsurfing used to be Sharon's game a while ago.
It looked pretty fun on the journey northbound as the santa pod crowd made their way home

This is a question that I've been meaning to ask for a while...
On a van or bus you can raise the air inlet with a snorkel, what (if any) are the options for the single and double cabs?

on pick ups the air intake is piped in to one of the big box sections that runs under the flat bed, the 1.9 has a little valve tou have to turn to divert the in take up that way. that puts it above the hight of the top of the wheels, I'm guessing thats enough?

van based syncros all have a snorkel anyway providing the pipe hasn't been disconnected or the rubber joint perished, nearside for diesels, offside for petrols

Ref air intakes/snorkel etc.,There is a drain hole in the elbow that the air intake connects to in the air duct on the van and another drain hole in the base of the air filter box, found both these the hard way as many of you may remember! Rog

I was on the M6 today as well. Going south turned off at Blackpool though. Twas early as well. I normally come down in my ex council Berlingo but Vanfest this week and couldn't see the point in driving 220 miles home on Thursday to drive all the way back again in the Syncro for Vanfest. So am driving the Syncro to work this week. It is the most imposing vehicle in the car park. Not to mention the coolest.
Cheers
Rob.

you need a condom on that dizzy - vw used to sell them but they have gone obsolete, I'll see if available from germany, they do work, mine has been totally caked in mud and in water without any issues thus far.
Failing that get a marigold hd and chop the tips off the fingers etc....
