bashing the bumper
Quite chuffed with myself today. I have chrome bumpers with the usual creases you find on the rear ones. Always been like it. Took it off today and clouted the hell out of it in right places with a rubber mallet and unbelievably its near as dammit straight again! All I need now is a strip of rubber, 9cm wide to replace rear rubber and shes good as new.

Sounds like i am gonna have a go at this, although the crease I put in myself in the builders yard!

rubber strip - ebay. You don't want neoprene though. Theres some nice 2" stuff on there but might try and find something a little thicker.
Case of eyeing up the bumper a bit first. Was going to use blocks of wood and g-cramps but the rubber mallet worked wonders. Had planned to find a replacement bumper but to be honest with the bashing I gave it, plus two new end caps, it looks great now. Rubber strip plus impact adhesive should finish it nicely. Good going considering its chrome - hardly notice it had ever been bent.
