Hi, this is the ohter half of Big Boris..female half I hasten to add!!

Agree with my OH that wet wipes were invaluable when we had a spot of van bother and couldn't get to a proper camp site for the night!

Also, I found taking a few carrier bags ie bags for life style ones a godsend as in France they don't have plastic carriers so this made life easier.

Finally the absolute essential that goes first into the van and suitcase and car is a corkscrwew and bottle opener!!!!

Porta Pottie - some bogs encountered both here and on the continent don't match up to our standards! :roll:

Us too and totally agree with the wipes as they kept us, and the van, in nice fresh condition throughout the trip!

Well, I really wasn't expecting that to be; bodged, broken, leaking, lost, missing, mangled, rusty, rotten, stripped, siezed - pass the Stella and it'll all be better

Keep a bottle of bombay sapphire and tonic in the van and you'll soon forget the lack of a duvet and pillows.....and food :lol:

At the risk of sounding girly, a can of dry hair shampoo and baby wipes so always feel and smell nice!
At the risk of sounding bloke-y a Top Gear quiz DVD and DVD player to keep the kids quiet if (when) it rains!

If you are going away in the van regularly it's worth having spare fleece and waterproof always packed in van - just something cheap.
Oh......and wellies!!!!! :P
THAT WOULD BE AN ECUMENICAL MATTER!

the wipey things go without saying but I always carry

kitchen roll;
loo roll;
my canopy;
bedding;
spare undies;
body spray, deodorant, hairbrush.
all my kitchen stuff;
water carrier
and a couple of pot noodles....dispite the fact that they do display a sell by date, it is doubtful that they could taste any worse if they go 'over' by a year or 2!!!!!

I like the fact that I can just get in my van at any time & go off somewhere without worrying about what I forgot :ok

I also keep a complete set of everything in the camper, clothes for one night, the only thing not in there is any fresh food for obvious reasons.

However I couldn't live without: Wet wipes, wok, coffee making facilities and a nice bottle of scotch for those cold nights lol

I bought 2 brilliant wind up LED torches in Stourport, £2-50e and it has differnt fittings that plug into it so you can charge ur mobile....nowt worse that breaking down & mobile is outta charge. Everyone else has mentioned the good stuff.

I stuck a bit of velcro on the back of the torch and can stick it practically anywhere on fabric in the van, so saves batt if you have batt probs.

NO MORE BATTERIES

In the 2 months i've had the van my list of stuff I keep in the van is as follows:

cafetiere and ground coffee (everyone has their posh preferences!)
Bog role, bucket and wet wipes the wet wipes are great for anything!)
warm coat/waterproof coat
walking boots
torch
multitool
sleeping bag/pillow
pans/crockery and cutlery
torch, a head torch is perdect for saving the van battery
and lastly...an MOD 24hr rationpack (you can buy these). lasts for years (10 year shewlf life) and has all the food and drink you would need for at least 24 hours, more if you don't have 3 meals a day.

oh....and most importantly........................OIL!!! :ok
