Right then, firstly thanks for your advice and responses.... secondly, the suspension is still alive after a couple of trips away with the bust springs (phew!).

I've had a lovely offer to lend me some standard springs (the kindness and generosity of this club is amazing) but now I've had time to think about it I kinda want to get it done a dusted so I don't need to be messing around with it for the forseeable future! I've looked at the springs on Brickwerks and read the guide regarding lowering and changing springs...

...am I right in thinking that if I only wanted to lower it using the -30mm AVOs then I could get away without requiring new dampers? Did I read somewhere that you can cut the end thing off the existing things? :o if so then I think I may go down this route as I would like the van to sit a little lower but don't want to go extreme as it does need to cope with reasonably heavy loads being a camper and I don't want the ride too hard. Am I on the right tracks or have I completely missed the point?

If you got an angle grinder or can borrow one you may not even need to buy new springs depending on where the crack is. just cut both springs to the same length and boom slammed bus :ok
How rough is the ride now?

well said..
I went in a van once with them and it were like a pogo stick ride :D
