K14 Turbo
I may need to replace my turbo and have noticed that the K14 is fitted to various vehicles(ZX,xantia, peugeots etc).Is this the same unit as fitted to my JX/AAZ engine.Thanks.Al
Re: K14 Turbo
The cast inlet side including the flange that bolts to the manifold varies between vehicles, and within production runs of vehicles e.g. late AAZ engine has flange with three bolts to exhaust manifold, early ones have same shape as JX with four bolts.
Exhaust side will vary in a similar way.
iirc the wastegates vary as well I had one operated by a pushrod that was adjustable, one I have now is just fed from the turbo itself
You don't want to be changing the inlet side if you get a reconned unit as you will invalidate your guarantee, but if you go hunting in scrappies you could mix and match. If you get something not sold as for a JX engine you will probably need to reindex the turbo too. see 80-90 wiki
