Re: replacign the clutch slave
That's what i thought though the haynes manual doesn't mention it at all
unless they are both fed from the reservoiur but to 2 seperate master cylinders ,im sure master cylinders are in 2 parts otherwise when you fill the reseruoir you would induce air into the system?

Re: replacign the clutch slave
Clutch master cylinder is fed from half way up the reservouir via a take-off pipe so won't interfere with the brake system even if the clutch runs dry.
When all replaced and new slave is fitted, just release the bleed screw on the slave cylinder and wait for fluid to run out while keeping the top-up tank full. When fluid runs from bleed screw it should be bled without having to pump pedal etc.

Re: replacign the clutch slave
Yeah, you can use either but if you just let gravity do all the work the system will bleed itself. Done it many times. Just undo bleed screw with tank full and wait a couple of mins till fluid comes out. Tighten bleed screw and try clutch operation. Should all be working ok.

Re: replacign the clutch slave
i did mine a while back ended up cutting front to rear pipe off under van, remaking flexi to slave and the flexi hose as well. I think i have some pipe and fittings if you get stuck.
