How do you know if there knackered got my inner ones off as im doing the gearbox .
should they be
1)freee moving and loose
2)tight but move with ease
3)clunky as in feel liek they binding?
or is there another test?

They are actually easier to check if they are still connected

However, since the 'box is out, you could visually inspect them, provided you want to get covered in sh*t and muck! If you have any doubts, replace them whilst you're ahead, they don't cost a fortune in the scheme of things.

strip em clean and inspect then reassemble with new grease if ok, if not replace, but old ones seem to last longer

cool cheers one moves quiet freely the other kinda binds theyre in a drip tray so may as well hit them with degreaser
