paint colour

Where can i find the paint code for my van?Its a 1981 reimo camper German import and its a really yucky bright green.I can't seem to locate the code,is it on the vin plate the local vw dealer says it is but he only looked 14 and I need some reliable information.Thanks.

There is a paper sticker under the dash from factory or I'm told there is something under the driver's seat. Code charts and things are available on brick-yard.co.uk, I don't think we have our own yet.
