Yep, clutch. Dooable at home, just gritty, heavy and annoying :D

does sound like the clutch jools but not worn out by the sound of it. is it possible that something is sticking mocki so the clutch can't re-engage properly? could it be a semi siezed slave?

Yes Rozzo.. just what I was thinking... could be the actuating arms are worn to hell... but without looking at it it does sound like a clutch on the way out.. the engine may not have enough grunt to make it slip in a higher gear.. as there is some confusion over if its a DG or DF.. it sounds like it could be a DF with the DG carb and manifold on.. still wont have the grunt of a DG though...
From what Julie has said it hasnt done it in any other gears, just 1st and 2nd... pulling away in 4th in a camper is big clutch abuse... better to run along in 2nd or 3rd at half revs of a slope come off the power and then floor it, it ought to show signs of slip then..
We'll be having a look next week though.. :ok
