How do i fix this??

Post by chippieshaun »

Image

It's a pic of the burner assembly from an electrolux RM212.
I took it apart ages ago and cleaned it up in alcohol as the jet was blocked up. Due to some clumsy storage i now have a problem!
I have no idea what this part is called. It is the bit that sticks in the flame (next to the thermocouple). THe thin copper tube has broken off the end of it.The copper tube travels from here to the top of the fridge.
Any ideas??!
Any help in part id gratefully received....
Cheers
Shaun

that is the thermocouple..any diy store that does boiler or heating spares should have them...they are about 7 quids(well they were last ime i bought one(a few weeks ago) :ok ..the other end should go onto your gas valve to shut it off if the flame goes out :ok

remove it fully from the gas valve too and take it all with you as the new types seem to have a different threaded coupler on that goes to the valve...i over came this by taking the coupler off the old one and grinding a slot in it so it went over the new one..after all its just an electrical connection..it doesnt have to be air tight...good luck :ok

Sounds like the only way......it seems that the part is obsolete now from electrolux.

:ok
the thermo couple is just to keep the gas on ,if the flame blows out the couple cools down and shuts it off..if the flame is staying in then the jobs a good un
