Only hot air?

I was wonderinf if anyobdy knows why, no matter what levers I push and pull, my van's air vents push out hot air? Now, I CAN turn the top ones off, but there is always some hot air pouring out of the vents at knee height making the van very uncomfortable when driving this summer! Is there a fix that WOULDN'T result in losing the ability to turn the heat on again, if you see what I mean, thanks... Helga x

One of two possibilities......or maybe even both

1. The control cable has a kink in it so when you move the slider the cable bends instead of sliding through the outer sheath, or
2. the heater valve itself is worn. It's located above the spare wheel and is plastic and about 2" long. Pain of a job to replace so check the cable first by removing the heater controls sliders and prising off the heater controls cover.
