flushed with success after bleeding coolant system (flushed... get it??) i have decided that i might reapply the sealent that goes around the pop-top in the gutters. it is all cracked, and i dont want water getting in there and rotting out my gutter...
so... what sealant do i use, and are there any tips that would help me do a great job on this??

Sorry Ollie, just seen this. Tiger seal is a great adhesive/sealant. A bit expensive though. Do you need to re- "stick" or just re-"seal". If you use a silicone sealer make sure it's an automotive one. It's been mentioned on here that the ordinary household ones have chemicals which attack the paintwork and/or metalwork. If the seal is cracking get on with it sharpish. Damp creeps in unnoticed. Ask any of my patients: If you don't notice the damp coming then you end up with damp patches all over your bottom (end) and everywhere else, then the smells begin.
BTW, got rid of damp smell in my van, I just farted and now it smells a bit diferent!

Following a recomendation on here ,I bought at great expense , tigerseal, and was very disappointed to find it did not like to be painted over .
The areas i used Unibond interior/exterior white sealer ( NOT silcone ) on , such as the seals for the fridge chimney exhaust and top vent , seem perfick and take paint nae bother .
The Unibond also came in a wee cartridge with a fine nozzle and is much easier to use and store , the tiger has gone stiff on me , unibond still ok, after 3 months or so.
When i do the seams this autumn it will be with unibond, i figger .

cheers guys. dont need to re-stick the pop top or anything, just want fresh stuff on there as mine is showing signs of cracking, and also has two big gaps where the wind out awning used to be fitted.
i plan to gouge it all out with a screwdriver, sand it down in there, apply kurust if needed, then a coat of rustoleum, then squirt in a ton of tigerseal or equivalant...
sound about right??
