:D Recently changed my thermostat whilst sorting the water pump and coolant out. Afterwards the fan was really noisy but it would appear it hadnt been working properly before as the old stat was knacked. The noise was due to the bearings drying out in the fan motor.

After 1200miles round germany and belgium and being used daily its now v quiet. Have you changed ur stat recently. Perhaps the fan has just not been comin on properly and so the bearings not lubing up right.

Jamie

Yeah i to replaced the fan temp switch in the rad but then decided to run the fan through a switch so that i have full control over when it comes on ie as soon as i get in traffic this system worked really well when we got caught in roadworks on the way to wales recently keeping the temp at its normal reading while in 4 miles of slow or stationary traffic, its always been a bit noisy but there is quite a bit of play in the shaft and bearings, managed to get a replacement fan and a set of rad hoses off of e-bay today for £25 delivered
