oil leak from fuel pump

Post by holeydub on 4wheels »

just finished changing my push rod seals (all outers seal were gone :( ) and now noticed that the orginal fuel pump has a leak on the gasket where it joins the engine block.

my only problem is that i have installed an electric fuel pump that i had laying around as after holding 16 years of stagnent fuel i was worried that the original one wouldnt last vey long, im prepared to replace the gasket and leave the pump just sitting there but, i was hoping if anyone new if there was a blanking plate available to totally remove the pump??

also if i remove it will i loose all of my oil or will it be like the push rods tubes and only loose a tiny amount??

oh its a 2.0ltr cu engine :)

cheers scott

:ok

Find someone who does drag racing and they will be able to advise you on what to use as a blank for the fuel pump hole in the casing.....

And yes you will loose some oil when the old pump is removed.....
