Push Rod Tubes

Noticed yesterday that ive got a leak coming from one of my push rod tubes on my 2.0ltr Aircooled, just wondering if i need to buy the adjustable push rods or can i just replace the seals on my existing ones...

Do you only have to remove the heads on a type 1 engine and not a type 4???

If i do need adjustable ones where can you get them from and how much are they???

Hopefully its just a case of new GSF seals

You can replace the seals on yours without taking the head off. The adjustable ones wont fit. If you do a search on here you,ll see that theres loads of advice been posted.

Yep, on yours you just remove rocker assemblies and tubes can be pulled out through cylinder head. They should have kept that design on ALL of them...

I've just replaced mine for the second time, as a couple continued to leak. This time I used a little heat proof sealant around the seals. So far it looks clean as a whistle underneath.

ive got some of that blue seal (gasket paste) stuff its supposed to benone porus (thats def not spelt right ) and doesnt go off.

Is that worth putting around each seal to keep it water tight, so to speak???

To be honest I wouldn't have a clue. But I don't see why not.
