fitting rear lap belts

hi can somone tell me if the mouting plates for the rear lap belts have to be welded to the underside of the
van or do u just drill through and mount the belts

They need large thick plates which ideally should be welded to the body or if that isn't possible they should have a further 2 smaller bolts keepin the plate in position. The idea being that they can't be ripped thru the sheet steel when the loads from an impact occur. :ok

hi peets thanks for info have seen some fotos on another website of the backplates bought from jk, they didnt
look like theyd been welded the plate fits under the weel arch on the sloping bit up to the engin but if u say they
need welding willl have to get mig out :roll:
