brakes squeal

Post by compton71 »

Hi to all fellow T25 owners :) first post here

Just need a bit of technical advice and wonder if anyone has had similar problems. I recently had my brakes serviced after buying my first van a couple of months ago. They replaced the pads, tightened wheel bearings and adjusted rear brake shoes. However since then my breaks have started to squeal very loudly although this seems to only happen after i have been driving around for about 10 - 15 mins. Once i press the breaks fully in the noise goes away and breaking seems good. I have travelled about 150 miles since then thinking it might need wearing in but seems to be getting worse.

I am thinking of contacting the garage again but was wondering 1. what could be causing the noise? 2. should the garage look at this without additional cost?

Thanks for any advice :)

Chances are they didn't replace the anti-squeal pads between the calipers and the pads. Not dangerous but flippin' annoying!
Mine do it a bit too, only when getting warm though ie. going downhill but thats because I cant find any of the anti-squeal pads! Had to resort to a paste you apply between the two to keep them quiet!
