Hi,
I have a 1988 1.9DG and am changing the fuel line that goes from the fuel pump to the solid pipe at the rear (nearest cab end) of the engine bay on the drivers side.
I looked on the wiki an it says 7mm internal diameter so I bought some 7mm from Halfords, tried to fit it and it's far too big. Should it be another size as Halfords have 5.5, 5.6 & 6mm sizes. Is it ok to have a smaller bore pipe only I don't want to restrict the supply tothe pump with undersized pipe?
Thanks

Re: Fuel line diameter
Hi
On my DG the fuel lines have 5.5 x 3 marked on them, which I think is bore x wall thickness. I think the VAG catalogue gives 5.5 bore too.
Hope this is of use.

Thanks for the reply.
5.5mm it must be as I bought 5.5 & 6mm from Halfords and 5.5 looked the best match. (and is aasnug fit)
Thanks again
