sliding door

hi i have only just recently purchased a 1980 VW T25 and have already encounterd a problem, the sliding door the door seems to have "dropped" i was wondering if anyone had the same problem or if anyone knew how i could fix it?

The haynes manual covers the adjustment in detail.
If it is just the front which has dropped, loosen the 3 allen screws on the bottom of the inside of the door which attach the bottom runner to the bottom of the door. once loose, this allows you to lift the door up a few mm and re tighten the screws. The rear is a more complex adjustment and a manual is really needed.(IMHO). Remember that your door is the earlier type and different spares are needed if you need to buy anything.

its the front i think it doesnt seem to line up with the whole where it locks? so has to be lifted wen closed

Perhaps the bottom roller has worn through it's track plate ? Or the roller bearing has collapsed ?

okai any ideas how i could tell if this has happened (sorry im fairly new to this stuff)

Have a look to see if the roller carrier arm is scraping along or catching on the bottom plate. Run a hand (carefully) along the plate and feel where the roller would be when the door's closed.
