grommets

Post by weldore »

dont know if this has been brought up before but i was under the van today and noticed there are 2 grommets, one either side in the middle of the rear battery/air box trays...would it be wise to remove these to let any water run out that comes from the air vents?

Sorry  ...thought it was the start of the silly season with MPs, School Children and Steven Gerrard all let off for the summer!!

Seriously I replaced these grommets when I did some work on the boxes under the illusion that they were fitted so they should be there or the elements might cause water etc to enter as spray from rear wheels... was I wrong?

well when you look underneath the bottom of the box it has grooves in it pointing towards the center ,this is proberbly for strength but is also a good water holder too as im sure the water would run down the inside of the rear wing and settle on these...but then again...mine arnt rotten and its been 25 years :?
