diesel injector cleaning

Post by T'Onion »

Ok I need to sort out the sooty van , noticed it putting out black smoke again on the big hills yesterday , I've been meaning to remove, strip and clean the injector for a few weeks/months.
So has anyone got tips ,tricks or better still pictures of what to expect .. someone mentioned a sonic bath but i haven't got access to one

oh it a 2.4 6cyl lt diesel.

Thanks

Dunno if its the same engine as the lt 35 has but my old one used to throw so much smoke out the back when going up hills it was quite embarrassing. I was told it was due to over fueling but i dont know enough about them really to say if its true or not.

yup , i think i've got a dribbler or 2 , its not the air filter , so i'll do the injectors and check the pump timing and then if its still not right ,i will be getting simon to look at it

tried those Tam , help a wee bit but didn't solve the problem . however the man at John Hogg said that they were all leaking ,a couple were leaking a few bit and all were down on pressure , so 150+vat should sort it out :ok
