Gearstick collar broken - help!

Post by megavolt »

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the small metal collar (what is that collar called)that is welded onto the gearstick under the gearstick pivot? I just went to replace the pivot with a kit from Brickwerks and found out the reason it probably broke in the first place. I've looked through a lot of posts but can't seem to find much info on it.
Gear lever diameter is 14mm, and is connected to an ALD03 gearbox in an '86 TD.
Photos are below. Cheers.

As far as I can make out, he doesn't actually supply gearsticks. Anyone else know whereI can get one - are the ones for Diesels longer than for petrol ones?

I dropped Simon an email - just need to see what he comes back with. Could I just weld the whole thing into place. I would have thought it needs more than just one spot weld on it in the first place.

If all else fails, I think that's what I'll do.
