I don't know about running the CGaz off a 50mb reg but here's what I've got in my cupboard; it works fine and has been checked over and pronounced "safe" byt the local motorhome coverter's CORGI chap.
Sorry the pics a bit carp but it's dark in there
These are the taps I tried to describe yesterday in the OFF position
Fine for UK use, on continent you can run off a "local" gas bottle and reg (much cheaper than CGaz) by using an extended flexi throough the drop out vents in the cupboard floor
You need to press the control knob in while tring to light them, they have a safety thermocouple so that if they blow out then the gas shuts off and you don't have a expolsion.
That doesn't sound over complicated, just sounds like common sense to me.
Plenty of people running 50mb Westies on 28mb bottles without issues, just means your toast take a little longer.
the first knob in the line, the lower one is the master, that sort of goes inline with the pipe to say it's on, and goes accross the pipe to show it's closed.
From memory that one is yellow, but the van is at work so I can't check.
Then, the red ones point in the direction of the outlet pipe to say that they are on, and should be marked as to what they are for.
Take no notice of the country kitchen club, they are just jelous, it's an inferiority complex.
the master valve is missing si, there are only two valves present. the fridge one and the hob one.
my bus had no tank when i bought it and whilst i got it working on 28mb british gas it works a whole lot better on the correct 50mb gas after fitting a second hand tank plus it frees up more cupboard space for the missus shoes....!!!
i believe http://www.eastfalia.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a coulpe of tanks................
No offence mate, but T'Onion very kindly posted a link to the westy manual, which can be easily found by using the search function, I have, on a previous post, sent a link for leisure batteries that fit the Westy, again found by using the search function.
Moral of this story, try the search facility, thats why its there

Don'y get confused, OP said he has 3 valves, I merely put up the pics of my set up to try and help him understand his, after the link to the manual didn't seem to sort it for him.

Yes mine is a retro fit Westy interior, no external tank and no master valve other than the one on the bottle, butthought it would give him a fighting chance at getting things working as he has also no tank currently

Good effort all round, now just the fridge to light

I wrote that before the thread was heavily edited to remove some of the westy baiting dross, also the picture didn't work when I first looked, I didn't see the missing first valve.
Do now and yep, missing valve.
