Distributor for 2.0 Aircooled?

Post by morzov »

My 1982 Devon 2.0 Aircooled CU has got a replacement distributor fitted - think its a Bosch 009 with points and condenser.

Trying to get hold of the correct electronic distributor as originally fitted. Believe it was Bosch part no 0 237 023 007. I assume these are no longer made . Is there anywhere reliable to get these as don't really want to get one and then find its no good/

Cheers

ask some of the traders in the classifieds, put a wanted add in the wanted section... sould be a good one out there.. dont forget you will need an ignition amplifier unit and the leads too...
It must be a 2l airccoled one though as the ignition curve is different... 009 is just plain bad on these...

Thanks for the plug! :D - but being rather technically challenged I have no idea what the kit does. I'd be grateful if someone would enlighten me.

Ah think I understand now! - someone removed the original distributor before selling the van to to me - presumably the repair kit is for the original and correct distributor which I haven't got -hence the post.

Yes, the kit Si linked, is to "refurb" the original.. not difficult to do... but a manual and some mech experience required...
