quick fridge question

hi ive got a electrolux 212a i'm trying to get it to work on gas how will i know if the pilot lite is lit and if it hasnt lit and i think it has will gas continue to come out? if you know what i mean

the flue gas will be hot when lit.
No the gas won't flow unless you depress the dial to bypass the safety cut off valve
