Our fridge does not work when the fridge is switched to run from the battery, works fine with gas and as far as we know it works with 240v mains. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know why this might be happening.
many thanks

Re: Fridge not working
thats because it's not supposed to
it runs off the alternator..
as it requires a lot of power it would flatten a battery in an hour or so
the fridge will not get very cold, on the 12V, it will work better if you pre cool the fridge with a two litre bottle of frozen water
then the fridge will maintain the temp whilst the engine is running

Re: Fridge not working

are you getting the impression we are new to this!!!

Re: Fridge not working
the switch is probably for the relay that runs the fridge when the engine is running but normally they're wired so they don't need one.
