Help Please :( Throttle Body Position Switch needed ASAP

Post by tonka »

Hello,

Hope all well with everyone.

Tonka ... is still not in a good way and its long term fault, that has now become crippling to its running has been traced to a throttle body position sensor problem.. I'm starting to go round the bend now, as in three 3 weeks I need the Tonka working as will be loading it up with kit to work on a festival. Currently Tonka is only able to sit on the side of the road outside my house but not able to move an inch :(... its so depressing.

Anyways, thought I would put a call out on the forum for any help.. I have called up VW and they say the part is now unavailable... does anyone know where I can get one for a 2.1 DJ engine..? Secondly, as have only been in Brighton for just over a year.. I'll be damned if I can find any garage who knows their stuff really well and is confident on the T25's (madly enough just about on every street you see one, so there must be someone somewhere !!)

If anyone can give me some advice or point me in the right direction, that would be really appreciated as I'm starting to lose my marbles now... its going to be a misery if I can't get the van working in couple of weeks time.

Thanks ahead.. for any suggestions and help.

Adam

Syncroandy had one for sale a couple of weeks ago, 30 quid iirc.

I know some of it has gone but worth a try.

I dont know whether syncrospares is up and running again. They had a box full.

Tonka fixed... thanks for the help and advice.. + A/C..?

Hi,

Thanks for the updates.

I managed to get it sorted in the end.. Tonka's problems after all this time turned out to stem from a faulty ignition module... what a merry ride round the houses this has been.. and not at small cost either :( ... Tonk has been happily driving around for last week or so... fingers crossed all seems good and is ready for work on a festival site next week. So good to have van back on the road again.

After the festie and it calms down a bit.. time for some long overdue TLC and bits sorting. Am thinking of getting rid the air con in Tonka or re-channelling it and eventually putting in a middle section pop up roof and some roof racks.. dunno if anyone is interested in the A/C system, what its worth, or if there is a way of re-routing it to go along the sides rather than the centre of the van..

Anyways.. we are go now again..

Cheers

Adam
