rear hub nut size

need to get a new socket to remove the rear hubs does anyone know what size it is, save me buying a couple of them ;)

also anyone changed the rear studs do they need pressing in by machine or can you just tap them in??

Yool be wanting a 46mm socket (pref 3/4 drive) and an FBH to remove the suds.

if you have access to a press use it.i didnt,so used a lump hammer instead :)

Amen to 3/4 drive (might be cheaper to hire if you don't have access to one). Too easy to snap 1/2" drive if the nut is as tight as it should be. I have one which gets loaned out to T25 owners within a five mile radius. Not the most well-used tool in the box but no substitute really.

cheers guys off to halfords now to buy my new socket and breaker bar :) def get the 3/4 inch size theough ;)

get new castle nuts in before you start
one of mine wouldn't budge even with 6 foot of scaffold pole over the breaker bar, had to split the nut with a chisel....
