Cleaning rubber mats?
I have just taken out the plastic tunnel thing that diverts (a little) heat into the back of my van (from front heaters) and under it the rubber mats have 20+ years of dirt. I have hosed down, scrubbed them and they look fine til they dry. They are all discoloured, whiteish, brownish dirty. any tips to get them looking remotely black again?

Re: Cleaning rubber mats?
I scrubbed with washing up liquid and gave them a good coat of 99p Astonish tyre black stuff from Aldi & left them to dry
They came up quite well

Dare I say it but I used "Cillit bang"... But dont leave it on too long.. wash it off with plenty of soapy water... mine came up looking like new... if in doubt about the quality of the rubber, you might want to give this stuff a miss.... its very aggressive...

Thumbs up to ArmourAll - great stuff that is. Clean rubber first though - better job then.

Re: Cleaning rubber mats?
tried various cleaners...could not find the cillit bang though! am very wary about going out and buying any AutoGlym stuff as it would double the value of the van!!
after 3 scrubs it looks much better. going to dig out some Armorall to finish it off. Huge difference. Now if only i could make the outside look so good...
