As far as I can tell - I have been loking at them for a while and unless there is a different bore size internally then as far as I can see they should be one fits all - except for the steel ones used on early bays/bugs/splitz!

Hi folks....update...having looked on vagcat, its not one size fits all.... the 1600 ct engine has the cooler located in a different place, and is a different part number....vagact lists a part number for the CU snd CV engines, but not the CT engine......

Unless others know different, obviously!

only asked as I have one on fleabay at the moment, and I was asked if it would fit 1600 ct.....

What do you need it for?
2.0l or 1.6l canal dweller?
1.6CT is same as bug as far as I know but has an extra port of for oil pressure switch,
2.0l isn't, same design but larger.
I have tagged some 2.0l ones onto my next order from Germany, maybe a month or so away.

EEk - sorry folks - really wasting your time here.....I don't need one....as explained above, I have one from a 2lt for sale, and I was asked if it would fit a 1600 ct., which from your answers above, it won't.

Thanks again for the interest, and apologies for the confusion.

Oh I might need that, my vans going in for a top end rebuild and I understand that its got a oil leak. I was told that it was the oil cooler gasket but I might need a new one

hmmm.. looking at that the 2.0L oilcoolers are deeper than the 1600 CT one's - maybe all the ones I have been looking at at the shows were from beetles? I know a fair few beetle bits fit on the CT engines.... 8)

Dugati,

go and have a look at the t2 1980 oil coolers page on vagcat. Distinctly different parts!
