2.0 A/C Replacement elec. fuel pump question....
2.0 CU Aircooled engine... the std fuel pump has been replaced, new one sited in engine bay, positive wire connected to coil, is this a bad idea, as the pump seemed to work better when connected direct to battery with a jump lead, seemed like it wasnt operating well when connected to the coil postive, engine down on power, also, should the pump be sited nearer to the tank like the original one it is replacing? Will it be robbing the coil of power if wired to its + terminal, im guessing it would be better off taking a wire from its original postive supply under the sill near the old pump, any advice gratefully received!

Prob drawing too much current down the coil wire.... will be sapping the power from the coil (rough running...) could fit a relay and drive it from the coil feed or better still there should be a switched feed in the "fuse box" in the engine bay... fit a fuse to whatever you do though
