Woodlands Adventure park near Dartmouth. As the name suggests this is more than a campsite but campers get free entry into the park and its great for Kids of almost all ages. (Minimum stays apply though)
If you want something simpler then there is a lovely campsite near me in Blandford Dorset. Fantastic setting and great kids playground but other than that fairly quiet. Unfortunately too close to home for me otherwise we would be regulars.
Both have websites so google them if interested

I'll be at River Dart mid August so look out for my ble van if you do go there.

Re: Recommend a camp site to suit kids
We recently stayed at Herston Farm near Swanage which would be great for kids. Walking distance from beach (just about) and Swanage itself. Has EHUs, bar/cafe and clean loos (if you don't use the ones in the tent field...yuk)....and lots of great views all around. The best bit, kids wise, is that a miniature railway runs next to site with a little station next door-this would take you to the beach in one direction and Corfe Castle in the other.
Our kids would have loved it...such a shame they weren't with us...had to make up for this fact by visiting a couple of great Camra rated pubs and treating ourselves to a few pints of Piddle.....

THAT WOULD BE AN ECUMENICAL MATTER!

I stayed at one in Blandford but can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Good facilities, loads of space, trees and a well-appointed playground.

West Bay holiday park near Bridport is good for kids, indoor pool and loads of stuff to do in the day and evenings. Walking distance from centre of village, beach and a bike ride away from Bridport which most of way is along an old railway track bed. Just abit expensive....
Mmm what's that strange smell from my exhaust...
