Fibreglass trim sections

Post by benkyma »

I recently bought a van that had been largely stripped out inside. It came with a load of fibreglass trim sections that fit around the metal parts and conceal the wiring etc inside. I'd like to re-upholster and refit these, but can't figure out how they are secured to the inside of the van. Has anyone got experience of refitting these fibreglass bits?

I think it was a minibus originally as it had runners on the floor for rows of seats. I don't know much more than that really. I could maybe post photos if that would help.

sounds like a Devon - I bought all the bits for my old caravelle, ended up putting small black screws through it into the metal, looked tidy once done, was a bit of a sod to fit.

Think it just clicks into place if its all sound

What kind of fabric are you using to upholster them?
I have bought an old fibreglass top locker (goes across the bed head end), which was covered in a thin ribbed carpet.
I want to recover it, but whatever I use needs to be thin enough to mould around curvy bits.
I notice that Woolies do a ribbed carpet, but hard to tell how thin it is.
