Road trip hints and tips.

Post by thechubbsdub »

We are doing a bit of a road trip after busstopover. The loose plan is across to the peak district national park then over to shell island in wales before ending up at the Anglesey meet the following weekend.
Any suggestions for things to see, places to go or avoid in those areas or even good sites or sites to avoid would be most welcome.

Thanks

Take plenty of Sara's special recipe screen wipes as there are a lot of bugs around in summer :rofl

I wouldn't have expected anything less than that from you two.

Peak District wise (we live there  ) I'd recommend Chatsworth House (Near Baslow) and Haddon Hall (near Bakewell), Bakewell itself for a walk round for an hour ... if you prefer countryside there's Edale (Pennine Way) or Dovedale (near Ashbourne) and over the tops from Buxton to Leek which is a scenic drive and on through Stafford towards Shell.

Have fun and if you need help locally my numbers are below

Coopers Campsite at Edale is good - right at the bottom of the penine way and next to a nice pub.

drop by Castleton and surrounding area - you'll love it (apart from the millions of others that love it too!)

If you haven't seen it and it's your thing the twisted church spire in Chesterfield is worth seeing

It's going a bit northerly but the Snake pass road is nice to do also
