window rubber sealant and paint?

Post by rainman »

Years ago I used some stuff on my morris minor window rubbers to seal them and freshen them up as they'd got a bit hard and cracked. There was a long-nozzled bottle of clear liquid which soaked into any gaps and cracks to form a seal and another bottle of liquid rubbery goodness (like tyre paint I suppose) which went on top to protect the rubber and make it all nice.
I've looked in Halfords to no avail and Mr. Google, while very informative on the various uses for rubber, still hasn't found what I'm looking for.
Tell me I didn't imagine this stuff, what is it and where can I get my hands on it?

Thank y'all.

Used some on an old van a few years back and got a bit more life from the seals
What a long strange trip it's been

I've used this stuff called Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack cure http://www.captaintolley.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It stops leaks behind the seals and worked very well.

Thanks, not the stuff I had mind but might give it a go. What I liked about the product I used before was that the sealant was a high viscosity liquid so it really got into any gaps and then set to a rubbery consistancy, wish I could remember what it was called or who made it.
