Its listed on Aircooled type 2 as 14404 2ltr same part number as T2 1.8 8/74 > 7/75 .I can tel GSFcarparts in the morning and PM you if that would help.

Got my mobile here so I'll call them thanks for the help also need to ask about delivery to Germany as it would seem this garage still rely on courier pigeons rsther than the more modern version or something!

Wow of all the parts to go it has to be the valves on a 2litre
A replacement exhaust and intake valve have now arrived in Germany today and will reach garage tomorrow. The exhaust valves ate not available ANYWHERE - gsf have them on back order to arrive end of the month, VW heritage don't list, brickwerks no joy and cool air on back order as well, and jk don't carry them.
Was shown cylinder head and it was a blackened mess for number one cylinder with big gap / chunk out on exhaust valve and black cruz all over intake. She should now be ready end Tuesday after a Europe wide part hunt by VW and air freighting on from god knows where! Just hope it is the right part when it finally arrives - gonna buy some spares when they're back in stock I recon!
