autosleeper: advice on getting into broken cupboard

Doh! we are unable to open the under-sink cupboard - we think something (cup?) is wedged under the catch. Can anyone advise the steps to partially dismantle the cupboard enough to remove said cup? looks like just removing sink/drainer not poss. Help!

Hi and welcome to the club , Gotta say one of the more unusual first posts , I'm not sure about your conversion , my hinges unscrew from the outside , is it possible to get a bent coathanger in there somehow and wiggle a bit ? Failing that what would I do ?..... hhhhmmmm , drive really fast over a speed hump and try to dislodge it . .

Or try using a metal ruler because they're very thin, and sturdy. Just been out to have a look at the narrow cupboard under our sink. Get somebody to push upwards on the catch whilst your poking about, to take all the pressure off the cup etc so that it's more likely to move if you can shove it with something. It could be wedged between the sink bowl and the catch so if you can get a ruler in there (and it looks like there's space for one along the bottom, hinged edge of the cupboard door) try to shove the cup over to the right, towards the drainer and away from the bowl.

Been there......same cupboard - we (foolishly) used to keep all the pans in there - it was a real puzzle job getting them all in the right order - then one day the handle of the frying pan must have slipped round and wedged the latch.

IIRC we used the bread knife and poked and wiggled it until the contents shifted a bit - took a few tries and a bit of teflon off but we got in - then oved all the pans somewhere sensible instead.
