Water pump

Post by tinman »

Hi All
I've fitted a replacement engine (1.9dg) to my van which had been standing for a long time. All is now good apart from the waterpump which is leaking from the hole underneath.
My question is will it seal itself up after a while or do I need a new waterpump ( not interested in radweld etc)
If so where is the best place to get one and how much will it cost the cheaper the better for me!
Thanks . :)

Often not true when it comes to buying parts though. :(

You need to find out if it's an early or late dg engine that you've got in there (metal thermostat housing on the side of the water pump, or a plastic one that is further back in the engine bay?) and then have a look down at the bottom of this page:

It's leaking from the gland and is knackered ... buy a good new one.

Cheaper than an early pump then, £35.79 plus p&p. :ok
