On a hydraylic system there should be very little play, about 0.5 - 1.0mm is about right IIRC.
There is an adjuster though. Its above the master cylinder. You know that pin you had to line up in the top of the cylinder... That's it!
There's a locknut at the top of the pin, just loosen the locknut and turn the pin to the desired length.
Only problem is getting to it. If you have double joints, bendy arms and a rubber backbone then go for it!
If you havn't... I wouldn't bother!
