Awning Channel

Post by meggles »

I've just seen an awning/sun canopy I like and it's at a good price too. Trouble is it slides into a channel like on a caravan. I may be asking a really stupid question here, and I have recently read a posting on here about channel on a poptop and hightop but I am still not clear.
Anyway. Q: Can I just buy a length of awning channel from a caravan place and fix to my hightop (self tappers and'or silkaflex) and then use awning like on a caravan. Or is there something obvious that I am stupidly missing?
I need to buy quick but won't be fitting for quite a few weeks 'til I get van painted
Thanks

Get some plastic figure 8 Keith, this fits over the gutter and then the cord on the awning slips through it.
