Wiring up a microswitched tap & in line water pump

Hiya,
This has probably been asked loadsa times before but i've done a search & cant find out what i need. Apologies if i've missed it.

My van has an on board water tank slung beneath it. But when i bought it the previous owner had ripped the kitchen out leaving just the water pipes and an in-line water pump with no wiring connected.

I have a kitchen unit now and want to wire a microswitched tap up along with the in line water pump. How is this done?

There's also a zig cf8 unit which has had all wiring to it removed prior to my ownership - would the tap and pump wire into this. At the moment i'm just using a free standing leisure battery wired to whatever i want to use.

Thanks for that, just been reading that & if i've got it right it looks like everything can be wired to the zig unit which will then charge the batteries when the vehicles moving. Still not sure how to wire the tap though Pump goes to zig & tap to pump somehow? Electrics not my strong point....

For submersible pumps, the contacts on the tap can be regarded as a switch, 12V feed to one contact on the switch (from one of the fuses on the panel) and the other contact goes to one of the wires on the pump. The other wire on the pump connects to ground. The micro switch on the pump is pressure operated, open the tap, pressure falls and micro switch operates pump.........water gushes out!

Hmm i think i get that but would that be the same for an in line pump? There's 2 contact on the pump and 2 wires on the tap. I presume both tap and pump will need power and an earth.....

If you have Diaphragm pump then it may be a type that includes a pressure switch in its construction, however, the leads on the tap are simply a switch that provide power to the pump when you open a tap so no earth on these wires, its 12V in on one wire and 12V out on the other wire (when the tap is used). The pump will need power and an earth so one wire receives 12V and the other provides the earth.
