Hi!
This is my first post in the forum. I tried to check everywhere before posting. I hope you can help me.
Im building my Rock and Roll Bed with hinges from JK. I printed out the plans from the Downloads in the Club Stuff but after some time checking dimensions and making prototypes with carton board, I realized those are for somebody who is going to install the storage place on top of the engine and I am not going to do so.
In Bench-Mode the Base Plate has a lower position than in Bed-Mode. That's why they include the brackets that go under the Base Plate.
But if I try to fit it in Bed-Mode to be aligned with the engine compartment, then the seat will be around 10cm lower than the engine compartment. And that is like 29cm from the floor!
I hope you guys understand my problem.
Had somebody the same problem? Any solution?
Thanks a lot.
BTW. I'm also installing the seat belts. And the same problem again, no mounting plates or holes. Can somebody post some pictures of the position of the 3 holes for a 3-points belt?
Thank you again!

Re: Type 25 Rn'R Bed WHITOUT storage place over the engine
Hi Mate,
if you can find a fit a genuine vw factory fit rock and roll bed (look like ordinary seats without arm rests) then yo won't need the engine bay storage area. I have a set-up like this in my caravelle with pop top, and its a really comfortable bed - all you need is a thick cushion in the engine bay!
Seat belts....they will be mounted so that they work with the seat. Get that sorted, and then you can make mounting points for your belts. But if you look on the slopey engine bulkhead, you will see some flat areas - ideal location for the lower points. My third point is behind the side grill at the back of the van - but if its a panel van then you will need to put strengthening to any location you use - spreader plate and bolt should do!
