Fiamma Awning

Post by drippytap »

Has anyone got a similar awning set up:- F35 awning (pull out type) using T3-F35 brackets to fit on my westfalia pop top?
Problem: The rear of the pop top just clears the bracket when you open or close the roof but if you fit the securing nut and bolt then you cannot close or open the top because of the length of bolt and size of nut.
Has anyone come across this problem before?

All sorted, great advice from sundial - listed below, thanks and hope it will be useful to one and all:-

"The upright part of the bracket which carries the F35 case (where the securing bolts goes thru) - i bent this forward (away from the roof) just enough to allow the bolts to clear the poptop, also i cut the bolts down to remove the excess thread.

if you bend them too much the bottom pf the case may be obstructed by the return of the bracket, if you see what i mean?

i think it was bent approx. 10mm from its original position of nearly upright, Paul (shepster) bent them for me, we clammped the bracket to a work bench with a couple of bolts and a piece of 'unistrut' (angle iron ish thing) and hit them (in the right direction) with a big hammer!!"
