jx head gasket

Hi all can anyone tell me what gasket to put on a jx cylinder head . I heard there was a couple of different types its a new casting not a recon cheers .because i know the mechanic wont know there is different types cheers . mac

It depends on piston height above block. If mechanic does not know of different ones i would avoid him

There are 3 thicknesses depending on piston protrusion as Andy says.
Piston protrudes a bit - thin gasket, protrused a lot - thick gasket.
You need a couple of special tools, or a dial gage and a stand but mush easier with the VW tools.
Not rocket science, but potentially disasterous if you f*ck it up.

TRy AW engineering in Darwin Lacashire, thy have the right ones

I have the right ones, but you need to know what right one you need!
Any mechanic should know this, it's fairly basic stuff.
