2.1MV oil light/ buzzer

Post by Vdub89 »

Hi guys,

I was driving down the motorway the other day and i slowed form 70 to 50 for some roadworks and the oil light indicator flashed on the dash and there was a buzzing noise. I stopped in the services, let it cool down and checked the oil level, it was 3/4 of the way up the dip stick between min/max. Anyway i topped it up so it was at max and carried back on. It seemed fine, but then when i slowed for traffic on the motorway from speed again the buzzer came on again!? The engine is running fine and sounds ok, but obviously it is a bit of A worry? If anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate it!!! cheers:D

First stop is to read the Wiki article on the Dual oil pressure warning system.
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Pe ... l_pressure
The buzzer warns you of low oil pressure at revs over 2000rpm.

Then have a search for buzzer of doom......

Usual advice is to do an oil and filter change, then investigate further

Hey thank you for the Link, i think my problem is maybe with the ribbon cable on the dash as i had the instrument cluster out last week as the dash lights were being tempremental! Maybe one of these days there will be a weekend when i don't have to work on the van and i can just drive it and not worry! :D
