Actually isnt diesel smell is exhaust smell!!!!!!

Post by Big Boris »

Hi all...again,

my earlier post is a bit wrong so OH has just told me.

it isn't raw diesel smell but the smell off the exhaust....i got my wires crossed! Not difficult really but hey!

Anyway, the exhaust fumes seem to be really evident but only wehn windows are open. OH also noticed that the exhaust to the heater is broken and wodnred if this had anything to do with it. As i posted before the van had a bike rack and bikes on over the weekend when we began to smell the exhaust so initially wondered if the fumes were being re directed back in to wards the van??

Any help as ususal gratefully recieved.

My son had same prob. Heating system is warmed by the exhaust pipes passing thru heat exchanger boxes. it was choking them.

Dropped spare wheel & got underneath & disconnected the heater hose temporarily to get him home. But most likely it will be a replacement of system.
